Fayette County Fire Department Lunches New Fire Safety Program
Coweta County
, GA
– Sunday March 16th, 2008 – Kroger Food Store held a re-grand opening at its Sharpsburg
store. Mr. Gene Edens, who has been the store manager for six years now, was excited to show-off the expansion of the store from 54,000 square feet to a newer, customer-friendly 80,000 square feet.
According to Mr. Edens, “This store originally opened its doors in 1994 and now we are proud to have expanded our footprint to focus more on our customers and satisfying their needs. We are happy to be able to provide a larger variety of services as their one-stop community shopping store.” Additions to the facility include: a StarBucks Coffee Shop; a Sushi Bar with a full time Sushi Chef; an expanded Gourmet Pastry Department; New Olive and Soup bars; an expanded Floral shop for all your flower needs; a new Housewares department; a new Full Service Sea-food and Meat Department; an expanded Nutrition Department; a drive-thru Pharmacy; a fully stocked Wine Shop complete with an on staff full-time wine steward; a 24-hour gas station offering discounted prices for all Kroger Plus customers; as well as the great service and produce that Newnan has come to expect from the fastest growing Kroger store in Coweta County.
Participating in the Grand Re-opening was the Buzzly mascot, from Buzzly Fire Safety. Most of you will remember that Buzzly has been instrumental in teaching our youngest children fire safety survival skills in our County. The nonprofit organization has donated Buzzly Fire Safety programs (which include videos, teacher lesson plans, parent handouts, and children activity sheets) to our elementary schools and day care centers. Please visit their website, www.BuzzlyFireSafety.com to learn more about their wonderful mission to keep our children safe.
Deputy Fire Chief Jay Jones and members of the Coweta County Fire Department were also a part of the festivities. Their fire truck is always a hit with the children. Other participants were volunteers from MDA raising awareness and funds through face painting, balloon animal sales and Johnsonville Bratwurst cook-out sales, and members of the Glaceau/Coca-Cola beverage companies distributing refreshing new Smart-Water products.
Mr. Edens stated, “it was a fun-filled day and nice to see our customers enjoying the new benefits of our newly remodeled store. I personally invite everyone in our community to come visit us here at the Sharpsburg Store.”
