I have to admit, it makes me sad to think of the many people who purchase a CD of images from me, yet never get around to displaying those beautiful pictures! I know life gets busy and framing tons of photos can get expensive, but I promise it will warm your heart every time you pass by them on your wall. Whether it's a snapshot that you took, or professional portraits, take time to proudly display your beautiful family, if not for everyone else to enjoy, then just for you! Nothing says warm and inviting, like the love of family documented throughout your home. Not sure of where to start? Well, here are a few suggestions:
I know many of you have seen these wall displays, which are great templates to give ideas of how to arrange frames in different rooms.
Also, using craft paper and tape can help you visualize exact sizes and layouts....I highly recommend doing this before hanging a large collage of frames....saves time and unnecessary holes in your walls!
If you're like me, you need to see frames displayed in real rooms to feel inspired, so here you go!
Why not shelf those frames, making it easy to add to them and move them around as needed?
Or try using white frames with white mats....oh so clean and chic. Easy to find too....ikea, pottery barn, walmart, aaron brothers, etc.
Or maybe you prefer a more eclectic look? Don't be burdened by rules....hang those frames floor to ceiling, mix black & white and color, use different frame colors and mats....the sky's the limit!
So, you like symmetry? I feel you....it looks so pulled together and pretty. Whether in a bedroom, kitchen or family room, matching frames and sizes always looks nice. You can achieve this look with canvases as well.
My #1 suggestion, if you are wanting to make people talk (in a good way) about your fabulous portraits, is GO BIG! I have said it many times before, and will say it again....nothing makes a statement like a blown up picture. When I say big, I don't mean 11x14 either!
For the creative at heart, try one of these fun displays....my favorite being the picture wallpaper which can be found HERE or HERE. So perfect for a playroom or shared sibling room!
Whether it's an old photograph of your great-grandmother, a snapshot from your iphone or a professional portrait, don't wait until your kids are grown to sift through old pictures....live with those memories everyday, all around you!
