Superman is a perfect example of an individual who carries his personal life values back and forth between his humble job and his heroic adventures. I've found that the best business people today are those who can perform successfully both in their careers and outside of them. Often, they've succeeded in business and are looking for another challenges. These challenges encourage them to be coaches of their kids' sports teams, running marathons to raise money for charities, investing in other companies, spending time helping impoverished countries, and playing their home and family roles all on top of trying to make ends meet in the business world. I call it simply "Making It Happen.
Much of this outside success then leads back to business success by reducing stress, creating a balance in their lives and fostering a mental toughness that can bring rewards in the boardroom. I believe that mental toughness has a direct correlation to success in business. These individuals are typically overachievers. They love setting difficult goals for themselves. Very, very competitive people love to push the limits and compete whether it is business or anything else. These superhuman individuals striving to make it happen often become more successful than if they had just spent all their time pushing their careers.
Time to "Make It Happen."
